Your Sail Training YachtAll the practical courses at Sea Jay's take place on board our Beneteau First 405 40ft yacht named "SeaJay 4". She is a modern, fast, comfortable, fin keel, ocean going yacht, ideal for both novices and skilled sailors alike.The yacht can accommodate 6 people comfortably: the fore-cabin sleeps 2 with en-suite heads (wc). The aft-cabin sleeps 2 with separate access to the rear heads. The main cabin also sleeps 2. She has wheel steering and all modern navigational aids. May 2010: SeaJay 4 has recently replaced our previous, slightly smaller yacht, so we do not yet have photos of
her. The picture below is of a First 405 moored in Martinique. We will post photos of our yacht here as soon
as we have them.
During our practical courses, students will sleep on board SeaJay 4. We will often overnight on a mooring or anchor at one of the many safe havens or harbours on the Solent. The more advanced courses will require night sailing, which may be done in "watches" - those off-watch sleeping below whilst underway. RYA Recognised Sail Training Centre
