RYA Basic Navigation & Safety Course

The RYA Basic Navigation and Safety Course provides a basic introduction to navigation and safety for users of small craft sailing in inshore waters near to land. Course is ideal for users of R.I.B.'s, day boats, anglers,  divers and aspiring yachtsmen.

On successful completion of the course you will receive:
Certificate: RYA Basic Navigation and Safety
  • Tidal awareness
  • Charts
  • Almanacs
  • Electronic navigation aids - GPS etc.
  • Harbour entry and departure
  • Pilotage including knowledge of buoyage
  • Basic understanding of the Collision Regulations (IRPCS)
  • Safety equipment
Students attending Theory courses will need to arrange their own accommodation in Lymington.
