Charles Jouning     SEA JAY'S SOLENT SAILING SCHOOL...
is run by Charles Jouning - a fully qualified RYA /MCA Commercial Yachtmaster Power and Sail, and a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor.

Charles started sailing dinghies in Lymington, as a teenager and soon progressed onto cruising and racing yachts. He recently successfully competed in the Transatlantic Rally from the Canaries to the Caribbean.

He has owned a number of boats including R.I.B.S and Motor Boats but his passion is for sailing, most of which has been done around The Solent which offers some of the most challenging and exciting sailing in the world.

Charles has skippered boats extensively throughout the West Country, The Channel Islands, North Coast of France, as well as the Mediterranean.

Charles Jouning     Susan Glenny
Susan is a Commercial Offshore Yachtmaster and Cruising Instructor. She began sailing at the age of seven in dinghys such as Toppers and Lasers. Her passion for yachting developed when a family member aquired a Contessa 32.
Since then she has become a keen yacht racer taking part in both inshore and offshore race programmes. She took part in the 2011 Fastnet Race and in 2010 was a key crew member on the winning boat in the PHS Rolex Sydney to Hobart offshore yacht race.

"At Sea Jay's we understand that many students have to fit their sailing training around work and family commitments.  We provide top quality courses at every level and try to keep our timetable as flexible as possible in order to satisfy your options.

Some courses can be run side by side - eg. Day Skipper Practical and Competent Crew often run together.  The mixture of skill levels on the boat  benefits all students.  (To be a good Skipper, one must learn to work with both experienced and inexperienced crew!  Inexperienced crew find life easier if some of the crew members are already skilled)".

Note that practical courses are run with a maximum of five students.  Students are required to sleep on board the boat for the duration of the course.

If you are unsure of your ability level or which course would be suitable for you, please give us a ring - we will be happy to discuss your options and make recommendations.
